Unhooked

Terms of Use

Effective date: 31 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and TN International Limited ("we", "us") for your use of the Unhooked website at unhooked-app.com and the Unhooked web app (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, buying a plan or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy (/privacy). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Unhooked iPhone or Android app, the terms shown in that app apply to it, and purchases made in it are handled by Apple or Google.

1. Important health and safety notice

Unhooked is an educational self-improvement tool. It is not therapy, medical treatment or a crisis service, it does not diagnose any condition and it is not a substitute for professional help. Scores and results in the Service are an indication only. If your habits are affecting your safety, work or relationships in ways you cannot manage, please speak to a licensed professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Content in the Service, including lessons, exercises and tools, is general information for self-help. It is not advice for your individual situation, and you should not rely on it instead of advice from a qualified professional. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions.

2. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use Unhooked.

3. Your account

You sign in with a one-time email link or with Google. Keep access to your email and Google account secure: anyone who can open it can sign in as you. Give us accurate information and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account. Your account uses the same sign-in as other apps we offer; each app keeps its own data.

4. Plans, free trials and payments

Some features require a paid plan: a subscription that renews automatically (for example monthly or yearly) or a one-time lifetime purchase. The price, billing period, any free trial and any taxes are shown before you pay, and may vary by country or offer.

  • Payments are processed by Stripe on our behalf. By buying, you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method for the plan you chose, and for each renewal until you cancel.
  • Free trial: where a free trial is offered (currently 3 days for first-time subscribers), you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. If you do not cancel, the first payment is taken when the trial ends, and the subscription then renews automatically. A free trial is available once per person.
  • Automatic renewal: a subscription renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the period ends. Your payment method is charged on or shortly before the renewal date.
  • Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in Profile → Manage subscription, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Lifetime: a lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that unlocks paid features for as long as we offer the Service. Buying lifetime does not cancel an existing subscription; cancel it separately to stop renewals.
  • Price changes: if we change the price of your subscription, we will tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal after the notice. You can cancel before then.
  • Failed payments: if a payment fails, Stripe may retry it, and we may pause paid features until the payment succeeds.

5. Refunds

Your first payment for a plan can be refunded in full if you ask within 14 days, as described in our Subscription and Refund Policy (/refund-policy), which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer laws where you live.

6. Using the Service

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own, non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell or resell it, scrape or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows, interfere with its security or operation, create accounts by automated means, share your account, or use the Service unlawfully or in a way that harms us or others.

7. Your content

What you enter in the Service (such as quiz answers, check-ins and journal entries) belongs to you. You allow us to store and process it only to provide the Service to you, as our Privacy Policy explains. You can export or delete it at any time in your Profile.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service and its content, design, text, graphics, audio and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not give you any ownership rights.

9. Changes and availability

We may update, change or stop parts of the Service, and it may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these Terms; if a change is significant, we will tell you on the website or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel and stop using the Service.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. We do not promise any particular result from using the Service.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Ending these Terms

You can stop using the Service at any time, cancel your subscription in Profile → Manage subscription, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@unhooked-app.com. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously breach these Terms or use the Service fraudulently; where appropriate we will tell you why. Sections 1, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply after these Terms end.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally. If you live in the EU, the UK or another place whose consumer laws give you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing in these Terms takes that right away.
